Hong Kong police arrest ex-husband of slain model Emily Choi

February 25 (United Press International) — Hong Kong police said on Saturday that four people were linked to the death of model and influencer Abby Choi.

Cai’s dismembered body parts, a meat slicer, a chainsaw and clothes were found in a rental unit in Lung Mei Estate, Tai Po on Friday, police said in a statement. Police described her death as “murder”.

Ms Choi, 28, was last seen near Kadoorie Hill in Kowloon City on Tuesday and her first bodies were found the next day, police said in a statement. Her head, torso and hands are reportedly still missing.

The model was not identified by police in the statement, but was named in reports in the South China Morning Post and CNN.

Police said in a statement that they initially arrested two men, aged 31 and 65, and a 63-year-old woman on suspicion of murder.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on Saturday in North Lantau, police added in a separate statement.

The 28-year-old suspect, identified by the South China Morning Post as Cai’s ex-husband Alex Kwong, was arrested at around 1 p.m. when he tried to escape on a speedboat with $63,698 in cash and a luxury watch worth about $509,583. catch.

“We think he was trying to abscond from Hong Kong when he was arrested,” Superintendent Chung Aaron of Kowloon West District told the South China Morning Post.

The other arrested suspects were identified as Kwong’s brother and parents.

Choi has close to 100,000 followers on Instagram and has been a cover model for magazines such as L’Officiel Monaco and Vogue China.

She often shares selfies with fashion designers, including giambattista valle and Zuhair Murad.
