First of all, we are deeply ashamed and apologize to many people for the bad image we have shown in the recent news, including the legal conflict issue with Lee Seung Gi. We would also like to take this opportunity to express our apologies to Lee Seung Gi, who has undoubtedly suffered as a result of recent events. Also, we bow our heads and apologize to all those who were hurt and shocked by representative Kwon Jinyoung’s inappropriate words and actions.
As we previously disclosed in our earlier statement, we are currently still sorting out the records requested by Lee Seung Gi’s legal representative. While we have not yet completed the process, we regret that the media is reporting unverified information about Lee Seung Gi’s profits and earnings.
In 2021, the original contract between Lee Seung Gi and Hook Entertainment expires. When the artist signed a new contract with the agency, both parties confirmed all financial records from the artist’s debut to the expiration date of the contract, and paid all payables. The parties signed a mutual agreement acknowledging that both parties have fully fulfilled their financial responsibilities.
Nonetheless, in accordance with Lee Seung Gi’s recent legal request, Hook Entertainment has enlisted the help of financial experts to keep a complete and thorough record of all payments made to Lee Seung Gi to date.
Also, we would like to clarify now that recent media reports that Hook Entertainment has not paid Lee Seung Gi any music income since his debut, and that the income distribution between Hook Entertainment and Lee Seung Gi is illegal, are all fake.
In the event of any obligation that we have failed to meet financially after a thorough revision of the records, Hook Entertainment intends to correct all errors accordingly. As an agency whose primary responsibility is to maintain a healthy relationship with its artists based on trust and loyalty, we once again feel ashamed and sorry for not being able to show the image of a model.
Finally, in singer Lee Sun-hee’s case, she may be listed on Hook Entertainment’s board of directors as a courtesy measure since she has been an entertainer with the company since its inception and she doesn’t really have a say in any of the company’s management or financial affairs.
