The man-made city of Dubai, located deep in the Arabian Gulf, has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
Despite being home to some of the world’s most famous landmarks, breathtaking architectural feats, and a plethora of luxury restaurants and hotels, it’s the country’s rich culture and unique heritage that really set it apart. An ever-evolving city that never stops by half way, Dubai is firmly on its way to becoming the city of the future – making it a destination not to be missed.
hotel
Five-star luxury hotels are not uncommon in Dubai, and this 35-story contemporary hotel from the award-winning Turkish hotel chain is no exception. Rixos Premium Dubai JBR first opened in 2017, its ultra-stylish twin towers of gleaming black towering above its peers, occupying a prime spot in the marina’s crowded skyline.
Designed by Melkan Tabanlioglu of Turkey’s Tabanlioglu Architects, the hotel overlooks some of Dubai’s most famous landmarks, including Ain Dubai, the world’s largest Ferris wheel, located opposite Bluewaters Island.
When you first enter, it’s easy to mistake the spacious, vaulted-ceiling lobby for a trendy shopping mall rather than a luxury hotel, with chic fashion boutiques, upscale restaurants and bars, and walkways leading to check-in lined with tables . But what the hotel may lack in personality, it makes up for in charm and style, as a grand entrance leads guests into a beautifully appointed lounge, where huge window panes overlook one of the city’s most popular beaches.
Outside, there are two main swimming pools within the hotel grounds, including a sleek infinity pool at the award-winning Azure Beach, one of Dubai’s trendiest beach clubs. Hotel guests can also enjoy private cabanas with private plunge pools, which can be booked for an additional fee. There is also direct access to Jumeirah Beach, with private sun loungers for the exclusive use of Rixos guests.
While the atmosphere is more geared toward a younger crowd, the Rixy Kids’ Club and the hotel’s own babysitting service offer great accommodation for families.
Room
The hotel’s asymmetrical architecture, with its 414 rooms and suites, lacks balconies, but more than makes up for it with dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. The palette is warm, modern and minimal, with jewel-toned accents that pay homage to the brand’s Turkish roots.
Guests can choose to enjoy city or sea views, but as the sun sets right behind Ain Dubai, the beachfront suites are not to be missed. At night, the JBR skyline comes to life, with nearby buildings and Bluewaters Island having their own light shows—perfect for viewing from the plush window seat of your room.
Spacious suite features a dining area and living room adjacent to a separate bedroom with a king-size bed. The ensuite bathroom features a walk-in rain shower and separate bathtub, and a selection of luxury toiletries from Chopard.
food
Rixos Premium Dubai is designed to take you on a culinary journey around the world, with no less than nine award-winning, world-renowned food and beverage outlets. Arguably the most famous of these is the vibrant STK Steakhouse, whose chic interior and party vibe mean you’ll want to book in advance. Another favorite nightlife spot in the city is Lock Stock and Barrel, an American industrial-style sports bar with live bands most nights.
Turquoise, the hotel’s all-day buffet restaurant, offers guests a wide variety of delicacies for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For breakfast, guests can start their day with a selection of cooked and continental options, as well as freshly made healthy juices.
The latest addition to the hotel’s on-site restaurants is Godiva Café, the world-renowned chocolate brand’s first on-site café. Standout options include freshly baked crepes filled with rich Godiva chocolate and fresh strawberries coated with smooth caramelized chocolate ganache; all served with a cup of authentic Turkish coffee, another nod to the hotel’s tradition pay tribute.
Meanwhile, at the stunning Azure Beach Restaurant and Bar, the adults-only pool turns into a buzzing entertainment hub with resident DJs, musicians and dancers. Mouthwatering Asian fusion cuisine and a variety of delicious cocktails are served poolside.
to do
Located on the second floor, the hotel’s Naturelife Spa offers guests a traditional Turkish spa experience centered around an ornate marble hammam. A variety of signature treatments are also available, including Balinese, Thai, Swedish and aromatherapy massages. The spa also features a steam room, sauna and ice fountain, allowing guests to truly relax away from the hustle and bustle of the hotel.
RixGym, like most of the hotel’s properties, offers breathtaking beach views from floor-to-ceiling windows and is stocked with a wide range of free weights, free weights, cardio and Technogym equipment. If you’re looking for a more unique workout experience, the wooden jungle gym on the private beach is open to guests all day.
For the more adventurous, Rixos offers air and sea activities to feast your eyes on, including paddle boarding, snorkeling, jet skiing, water skiing, parasailing, flyboarding, scuba diving and yacht charters .
Outside the hotel, guests can stroll along the main pedestrian area, Jumeirah Beach Walk and Dubai Marina. Just steps away is Flying Cup, a unique dining experience 40 meters above sea level, while just across the beach you’ll find Skydive Dubai, the city’s premier skydive location for thrill-seekers.
in short
If you’re looking for a fun and vibrant hotel that lives up to Dubai’s reputation for luxury, look no further than Rixos Premium Dubai JBR. There’s something for all ages, but those looking to party all day and into the night will love this stylish hotel best.
Given its prime beachfront location, the hotel grounds are not the largest in Dubai, so it can feel bustling at times. But with easy access to so many tourist destinations, it’s the ideal base for your stay in this gorgeous and vibrant city.
