Meanwhile, Virgin Galactic successfully completed the venture aboard the VSS Unity spacecraft with six people on board, including researchers from the Italian Air Force and the Italian National Research Council.
Virgin Galactic is currently planning its next space mission, “Galaxy 02,” in August, and hopes to make space trips once a month thereafter. In November 2014, a crew member died during a test flight of a Virgin Galactic prototype.
