How to Apply for UAE Green Visa?

[ad_1]

Dubai: To attract talented and skilled workers from around the world, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has implemented a 5-year green residency visa, which will increase flexibility in the job market

Company directors, executives, engineers, professionals and technicians in the fields of science, technology and humanities will be Emirati workers who can apply for a five-year green visa.

Green visas will be offered to those with a bachelor’s degree earning 15,000 dirhams ($4,084) or more a month, as part of an overhaul to attract new talent to the UAE and encourage residents to stay longer.

The five-year UAE Green Visa is a residency visa that allows its holders to sponsor themselves for five years without the need for corporate sponsorship, and provides a range of benefits for family members. Green visas are approved by the UAE Cabinet under Decision No. 65 of 2022.

Who is eligible for a green visa?

UAE authorities have identified three categories of people who can apply for a green visa. Investors/Business Partners, Freelancers/Self-Employed and Highly Skilled Workers with Business Licenses.

Freelancers and self-employed individuals need proof of a bachelor’s degree or professional diploma, and a freelance license issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisations (MoHRE).

To qualify, they must also be able to demonstrate an annual income of at least Dhs360,000 for the past two years, or demonstrate financial solvency during their stay in the UAE.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has nine jobs at different skill levels that meet the International Standard Classification of Occupations.

If applying for the skilled worker category, applicants should be classified as first, second or third class. Workers should have a valid work contract in the UAE with a salary of Dh15,000 and a bachelor’s degree in certain skill fields, including science, law, education, culture and social sciences.

For skilled employees, a valid employment contract with a minimum wage of AED 15,000 according to MoHRE’s classification of 1st, 2nd or 3rd occupational class, bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

For investors or partners, investment approval and proof of investment are required, and approval from local authorities is required.

Benefits of UAE Green Visa

The UAE Green Visa will enable the holder to easily obtain residence permits for children, spouses and first-degree relatives. Green visa holders can also sponsor their male children under the age of 25 and daughters of any age.

The overstay period will also be extended, giving holders up to six months to stay in the UAE once the green visa is canceled or expires.

Those wishing to obtain a UAE green visa from overseas will be eligible for a 60-day entry work permit to complete the application upon arrival in the UAE.

How much does the UAE Green Visa cost?

According to Arabian Business, the visa application fee is AED335.75. For domestic change of status, there will be an additional fee of AED650. Medical examination and Emirates ID fees are additional.
