How to watch Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball 2023 online for free

New Year’s Eve revelers around the globe can watch New York City’s iconic Times Square ball drop live online — for free, without commercials — along with a slew of musical performances and other festivities to mark 2023.

The six-hour Times Square 2023 livestream will begin on December 31, 2022 at 6:00 pm ET and end on January 1, 2023 at 12:15 am ET.The show will air on several sites, including TimesSquareNYC.org, LiveStream.com/2023 with Times Square Networkpowered by Vimeo’s Livestream platform.

Times Square New Year’s Eve Live will feature artists including Chelsea Cutler – she’ll perform several of her hits around 7pm ET, and then she’ll continue the New Year’s Eve tradition of singing John Lennon just before midnight “Imagine” – and JVKE, Jax, Ava Max, J-Hope, Osmani Garcia, New Edition, Sech and Duran Duran.

On traditional TV, Times Square will also take center stage Series airs on ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN. This will include ABC’s “Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest’s New Year’s Eve Rock” (with live performances from Duran Duran, Jax, J-Hope and New Edition), CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen” (featuring Ava Max) and Univision’s “¡ Feliz 2023!” (featuring Sech and Osmani Garcia).

The evening will begin at 6:00 pm ET with the New Year’s Eve Ball lit up on the top floor of Times Square. Returning as on-air host is actor and TV personality Jonathan Bennett (“Mean Girls,” Hallmark’s “Holiday Nanny,” Food Network’s “Cake Fight”). Bennett will join co-host Jeremy Hassell, who has been a part of Times Square’s New Year’s Eve festivities since 2016.

Times Square Live will also be available on the free VNYE app (vnye.com) from Jamestown, the real estate company that owns Times Square. With VNYE, users can virtually explore Times Square attractions, play games and live-stream New Year’s Eve celebrations from Times Square and around the world.

The annual event is organized by Times Square Alliance and countdown entertainment. This year marks the 118th New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square, which began in 1904 when Times Square’s owners celebrated the New Year with their first rooftop celebration.

Times Square’s first ball drop ceremony took place in 1907. This New Year’s Eve, the nearly six-ton ​​ball — 12 feet in diameter and outfitted with 2,688 Waterford crystal triangles and 32,256 light-emitting diodes — is scheduled to descend from the top of the 26-story Times Square building at 60 minutes before midnight local time. seconds to start.
