The UAE’s new visa regime has many benefits for Indians. The advanced visa regime, announced last month, came into effect on October 3. The changes were approved by the UAE Cabinet in April and announced by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) last month. The new rules could have major implications for tourists and those looking to work or live in the UAE.
UAE Visit Visa
Under the new rules, tourist visas will allow tourists to stay in the UAE for 60 days. Earlier it was 30 days.
A five-year multiple-entry tourist visa will also allow tourists to stay in United Arab Emirates Up to 90 consecutive days.
The new work exploration visa will allow professionals to seek employment in the UAE without a sponsor or host. The visas will be issued for three terms: 60, 90 and 120 days, meaning job seekers have up to four months to explore the UAE job market.
UAE Green Visa
The UAE’s green visa is a residence visa that allows its holder to sponsor himself for 5 years. They do not need to rely on employers or UAE nationals to sponsor their visas.
The five-year green visa will allow foreigners to sponsor themselves without any assistance from UAE nationals or their employers. Freelancers, skilled workers and investors are eligible for this visa.
Green visa holders will be granted a period of up to six months if their permit expires.
UAE Golden Visa
The Golden Visa is a long-term residence visa that allows foreign talent to live, work or study in the UAE for up to 10 years.
The Golden Visa also provides 10 years of extended residency. Investors, entrepreneurs and individuals with exceptional talents are eligible for the Golden Visa.
Workers on a Golden Visa will enjoy the benefits of 100% ownership of their business.
