gulf business Also had the opportunity to communicate with Peak Yin, UAE Country Manager of Huawei Consumer Business.

Asked how the drop in global smartphone shipments in the first quarter of 2023 would affect Huawei’s sales and market share, Yin said: “From the first quarter of 2022 to the first quarter of 2023, our flagship smartphones will Sales of and wearables above $300 were popular with users in the region and increased by 50%.
In the rest of 2023 and 2024, Huawei plans to continue its efforts to make the digital world accessible to everyone and build a world where everything is connected.

The launch phase of our flagship phones is back in the past. In the first half of 2023, we just launched the brand new P60 Pro. In the second half of this year, we will launch the next Mate series. So it’s pretty much back to our original trajectory.

We are grateful for the support of our loyal customers and media partners who have made these achievements possible. Despite the challenges of the past three years, we have continued to firmly secure our investment in R&D and innovation.

Meanwhile, Yin also explained the strategy the brand is adopting in response to the drop in demand for smartphones. He added: “We have demonstrated promising returns with consecutive flagship product launches such as last year’s Huawei Mate 50 Pro, as well as the Huawei P60 Pro and Huawei Mate X3.

Since its launch, the Mate 50 series has been very popular in overseas markets such as China, the Middle East, and Africa. This gives us a lot of confidence. This year, the domestic sales of Huawei P60 series and Mate X3 also far exceeded expectations.

As one of the first brands to enter the industry, Huawei’s foldable mobile phone has three folding modes: outward, inward and vertical. We have the most mature folding technology and the most formats in the industry. Huawei’s folding screen mobile phone market share in China has exceeded 50%. One in every two foldable phones is from Huawei.

The P60 Pro has the industry’s largest light-input periscope telephoto camera, allowing you to capture supermoon scenes and see the invisible. In P60 Pro Rococo Pearl, we used environmentally friendly materials to reproduce the texture that never repeats for the first time.

Huawei Mate X3 is the world’s thinnest large-screen folding phone. For the first time, a large-screen foldable phone is lighter and thinner than a standard phone. At the same time, Mate X3 is also trustworthy. This is the first time that a non-Newtonian fluid material has been used on a mobile phone screen. Increase the impact resistance of the inner screen by four times. The outer screen also uses Kunlun glass, and both the inner and outer screens are very reliable.

In addition to mobile phones, we are also making continuous efforts on +8 products. We released Huawei Watch Ultimate, Freebuds 5, MateBook D 14, MateBook X Pro and MatePad 11, extending the seamless experience to all-scenario products and bringing consumers more choices.

With all these flagship devices hitting the local market, we are eager to continue to provide our customers with an industry-leading smart user experience. “
