Hugh Bonneville doubts another Downton Abbey movie will be made.
The 58-year-old actor, who played Robert Crowley, Earl of Grantham in both the period drama series and both films, thinks the series “may be on the right track”.
Hugh told Screen Rant: “It’s a fictional world because I don’t think there will ever be another world. I thought for a while (there) it would be; we’re all set, let’s go. But I Thought it might have come to an end by now. It’s been 12 years since we’ve been visiting this family and it’s been amazing. But I think it’s probably been enough.”
The ‘Paddington’ star continued: “If it goes on, I don’t know where it’s going next. Based on each of the last few iterations roughly happening in a year or two, we should be in 1929 year.

Hugh admitted that filming the sequel, Downton Abbey: A New Age, was a “very pleasant experience” as several of the cast members traveled to the south of France.
He said: “We had to isolate for a week, which was kind of annoying, but it was a really good week by the pool.
“We had a hard time playing because it was hot, but nice and very satisfying. For a while we were worried we wouldn’t be able to go to France at all, we had to cobble together some English villas and the lights weren’t the same.
“We were very lucky and yes, it was a huge joy.”
