i-PRO, a global leader in professional surveillance security solutions, along with Panasonic, its regional distributor in the Middle East and Africa region, announced the addition of AI to its PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) cameras. This will revamp the entire PTZ series, adding a total of 35 new cameras.
The new PTZ range was launched at a recent launch event in Dubai attended by 90 dealers, contractors and integrators.
In keeping with its mission of artificial intelligence in the security industry, i-PRO has added its first AI-enabled PTZ camera to the S-Series. These cameras include a powerful built-in AI processor that enables advanced automatic tracking to make the operator’s life easier. Equipped with the highest level of network security, the cameras can run two different deep learning AI applications at the network edge, reducing load and server infrastructure costs. Due to i-PRO’s open platform AI strategy, Software Developer ,000it (SD,000) can also be used to integrate third-party professional applications.
i-PRO has also added PTZ cameras for the first time to its U-Series, a cost-effective range for the most price-sensitive installations. This addition is further evidence of i-PRO’s commitment to listening to market needs and responding quickly and flexibly.
Hidetoshi Kaneko, Director of PMMAF System Solutions and Communications Division, said at the regional launch of the new camera series: “At PMMAF i-PRO, we are committed to providing innovative solutions that provide applications that go beyond visual security management. Automatic detection and deep learning capabilities AI applications such as this help in efficient decision-making in a rapidly changing environment. With the compatibility of third-party video management software, we can give our customers peace of mind and the flexibility they need.”
Smarter, faster and cyber-secure
The new S-Series PTZ cameras are designed to make operators’ lives easier with smarter, smoother and simpler operation. They use the latest image sensors and lenses to improve image quality, especially in low-light conditions, to improve accuracy and prevent false positives.
The powerful onboard Ambarella AI processor supports advanced automatic tracking, which assists the operator by automatically detecting, zooming in and tracking people, vehicles and bicycles, as well as the unique attributes of detected objects such as color and type. Safety operators will also notice faster PTZ response times during preset operation and improved autofocus during manual operation, ensuring operators receive consistently sharp images.
The S-Series PTZ cameras are available in 2MP and 5MP resolutions with 21x-40x zoom ratios in both indoor and outdoor environments, and are available in a variety of options such as smoke shield, salt proof and black models. With IP66/IP67 dust and water protection and IK10 impact resistance, the Outdoor S-Series PTZ can withstand challenging outdoor environments and operate effectively at any temperature.
Cost-effective yet still cyber-safe
The new U-series PTZ cameras are the little brothers of the S-series, designed for projects that do not require AI capabilities but still require the core benefits of i-PRO quality, reliability and cybersecurity.
These cameras provide customers with a cost-effective, easy-to-install and network-safe PTZ with class-leading image quality even in low-light conditions. Offers 2MP resolution and 3.1x-21x zoom ratio in indoor and outdoor environments. The new U-Series PTZ outdoor models meet IP66 and IK10 shock resistance standards.
Core Quality, Design and Cybersecurity
The PTZ cameras in both series benefit from a new modern design with a smaller form factor and dimensions similar to many dome cameras. This convenient size, along with excellent low-light performance, means the camera can be easily installed in almost any location and still produce high-quality images and object detection accuracy to reduce false positives. Both camera series are also FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified for the highest level of cybersecurity for peace of mind.
“Today, i-PRO takes an important step towards becoming a next-generation partner to the security industry,” said Gerard Figols, President of i-PRO EMEA. “We are making life easier for security operators by offering the market’s first PTZ with an AI open platform, delivering the highest level of cybersecurity at the edge. At the same time, we are incorporating innovation into our cost-effective of the U-Series lineup to give the market access to equally powerful hardware – all at a time when the wider industry is struggling with product availability and price increases.” – arab trade news agency
