ICA approves flights from restricted countries to the UAE: who can apply-News

Resumption of passenger entry from August 5 UAE residents stranded in various countries Where do the flight restrictions apply.

Since then, hundreds of stranded passengers from restricted countries such as India and Pakistan have returned to the UAE.

On Monday, August 16, the Federal Identity and Citizenship Administration (ICA) urged holders of valid residence visas who wish to return to the UAE from restricted countries to apply for approval on the ICA website. (Dubai residents need to obtain approval from the GDRFA General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs.)

ICA reiterated who can obtain approval and its requirements.

>> Requirements:

-They must have received a complete vaccination in the UAE.

-At least 14 days must have passed since the second dose.

-They must hold a vaccination certificate approved by the UAE authorities.

>> Some categories are exempt from vaccination requirements:

-Medical staff working in the UAE.

-Residents working in the education sector.

-Students studying in the UAE.

-Staff of federal and local government authorities.

-Those who have completed medical treatment in the UAE.

-People who wish to return due to humanitarian considerations.

No matter which category you are in, you must obtain ICA approval to return to any airport in the UAE country, except Dubai.

In response to customers’ questions about traveling to Dubai from restricted countries, Emirates’ official customer service staff wrote on Twitter: “At present, we only accept travel visas for Dubai residents from India, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Ugandan and Uganda reach the UAE.”

Air India Express recently stipulated the documents that passengers holding a UAE residence visa must bring from India to any airport in the UAE:

>> For passengers who hold a residence visa issued in Dubai and go to Dubai, passengers must obtain the “Return Permit for Residents Abroad in the UAE” form from the General Directorate of Residence and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) through the following website: https://smart.gdrfad .gov .ae/Smart_OTCServicesPortal/ReturnPermitService.aspx

>> For holders of residence visas issued in other emirates, they must obtain the form from the Federal Identity and Citizenship Administration (ICA) via https://smartservices.ica.gov.ae/echannels/web/client/guest/index .html#/registerArrivals

(Those who hold a visa issued by the organizers of Expo 2020 Dubai can travel to the UAE without GDRFA/ICA approval.)

>> Passengers must hold a negative Covid-19 test certificate, the QR code of which is linked to the original report. The test must be completed in an ICMR approved laboratory within 48 hours before departure.

>> A rapid PCR test report based on molecular diagnostic tests must be carried out at the departure airport in India within four hours after departure.
