In 2018, Idealz and Dubai Cares launched a school building plan. E-commerce platforms and organizations have jointly established and operated a series of schools in underdeveloped countries. These schools have limited opportunities for quality education. Today, as part of the plan, these entities announced the official opening of the first school in Nepal since the start of their project. The partnership is based on the founder Jad Toubayly’s belief that education is the key to improving the quality of life, and this belief has been deeply rooted in the foundation of Idealz’s business model.
The first school in the ongoing school construction project is located in the rural town of Nauhari and will accommodate up to 321 students in the upcoming school year. The average literacy rate in Nepal is 50%. In rural areas such as Naukhari, mainly composed of subsistence farmers who raise livestock and grow crops, the average literacy rate is 20%. With the help of Idealz and Dubai Cares’ school building plans, Nepal’s children will have the opportunity to further develop their educational experience and receive quality education in a comfortable campus.
To date, Idealz has allocated substantial funds to build schools for disadvantaged children around the world, and has carried out further projects in Cambodia, Malawi and Senegal. Idealz is committed to establishing 6 to 12 Dubai Care Center schools in each country/region every year, aiming to lead by example and pave the way for the company to further contribute to social responsibility.
Since its inception, Idealz has begun to deal with the lack of education gaps in underdeveloped countries and increase its products by making customers the changes they want to see in the world. In the past two decades, the global youth literacy rate has risen from 83% to 91%, and regional differences still exist. Less developed countries have the lowest literacy rate, and more than 100 million young people worldwide do not have access to quality primary education. To solve this problem, Idealz has added a feature that allows customers to choose to donate their purchased products to charities in exchange for additional free raffle tickets, thereby doubling their chances of winning. Idealz then aggregates the products donated by customers and provides them to Dubai Cares, the UAE charity organization that the e-commerce platform cooperates with, and repurchases them at the organization’s choice in exchange for cash to fund the construction of schools and other such projects. Each purchase allows customers to contribute to the construction of schools in underdeveloped countries. Idealz puts social responsibility at the core of its value proposition.
“We are ecstatic to announce that we will open a school in Nepal through our school construction plan. This is an opportunity that most children living in this situation dream of. By cooperating with Dubai Cares, we are able to provide quality education for young people, and I hope they have a better future.” Idealz founder Jad Toubayly explained.
Idealz launched its platform to change the online shopping experience of its customers. In doing so, Idealz incentivizes sales through considerable value-added propositions. In this case, the company sells its products with a limited number of events, and customers receive free tickets for the designated lottery every time they purchase, thus turning around Shopping mode.
To ensure transparency and integrity, all Idealz draws are supervised by the Business Registration and Licensing Department of Dubai Economy or the Lottery Department of Dubai Festivals and Retail Institutions. In addition, the company’s donations to Dubai care and activities are approved and managed by the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities (IACAD).
