IIT Delhi News: IIT Delhi expansion campus; new courses and Abu Dhabi campus card

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is expanding its campus and will add five new buildings, including a girls’ dormitory, a boys’ dormitory, an academic building, and a staff dormitory.Council in IIT Delhi Five new infrastructure projects worth Rs 6.8 crore have been approved.In addition, an IIT is being set up in Abu Dhabi, said Rangan Banerjee, Director, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. “We are trying to Abu Dhabi Depending on the ministry’s decision,” he told ET. This year, three centrally air-conditioned student dormitories named Dronagiri, Saptagiri and Sahyadri have been built and students have moved in. There are 1,208 rooms in total, of which Sahyadri is a girls’ dormitory with a capacity of 320 rooms, he said.

In addition, the IIT is developing a new course For the coming school year, he said. IIT Delhi will soon start installing electric vehicles (electric car) charging infrastructure across the campus to facilitate the use of electric vehicles.

In FY 2021-22, 286 sponsored projects were carried out through the Institute’s Industrial Research and Development (IRD) division and the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) with a total funding of Rs 351.90 crore, which is a part of the IIT Industry Interface Organization Delhi.

The IIT shared that in the 2021-22 fiscal year, 346 consultancies were carried out through the IRD division and FITT with a total funding of Rs 3,433 crore. During 2021-22, 111 IPs were submitted.
