Imran Khan’s attack on Pakistani army: ‘History will blame you…’ | World News

former prime minister of pakistan Imran Khan On Thursday, there was a scathing attack on the country’s military and a call for “centrists” — the term he used for the military establishment — saying “history will blame them for what they did to the country.”



“I want to ask neutral countries today, do you know where the country is going?” local media breaking Dawn To quote Khan. “How can the country and economy progress when you don’t even know what will happen in the next 2-3 months,” PTI party leader Imran Khan further said.

The term “neutral” was coined after the military said it would not interfere in politics after Imran Khan was ousted as prime minister in a vote of no confidence in April. “No matter how many times you call yourself neutral, history will blame you for what you have done to this country,” he said, alluding to the lack of military support for him during his removal.

The former Pakistani prime minister also warned the military to “review their policies” when there was still time. “You should look back and think that there are 220 million people in this country … more than 60 percent of the population are young people who need jobs,” he was quoted by local media as saying.

The PTI chairman also claimed that there were attempts to disqualify him and undermine his party.

Khan’s latest remarks come after he said Pakistan ”Descend to Banana RepublicDuring the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shahbaz Gill on sedition charges. He also called Gill’s arrest a conspiracy against him and all the leaders of his party.

Sheikh Baz Gil, a close aide to Imran Khan, was arrested in Islamabad last week for allegedly making controversial remarks about the Pakistani army on a private TV channel, local media GeoNews reported. He was eventually charged with sedition for inciting members of the state apparatus against the Pakistani army.
