In UAE, sea helicopter crash, 2 missing, search ongoing, wreckage found

The General Civil Aviation Authority‘s (GCAA) Air Accident Investigation Sector received a report of a helicopter crash off the UAE coast on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at around 8:30 pm.

The ‘Bell 212’ helicopter, registered as A6-ALD and owned by Aerogulf, plunged into the Gulf sea during a night training flight with two pilots of Egyptian and South African nationalities on board, as stated by GCAA.

The helicopter had taken off from Al Maktoum International Airport. Search and rescue teams have located the wreckage and continue to search for the crew. The investigation team has promptly arrived at the accident site, according to the GCAA statement.
