What an amazing sight…
Two exciting astronomical events will happen this month, as Jupiter and Saturn will reach the closest places to the UAE. These two amazing planets will be the largest and brightest on August 2, but the annual phenomenon known as “antagonism” will also occur on August 20.
An up-and-coming photographer, an Emirati firefighter named Rashid bin Aziz Al Shehhi, took some wonderful shots of Saturn on the Jebel Jais mountain in Ras Al Khaimah last night. This video uses the zoom lens on a Nikon P1000 camera to clearly show this incredible planet and its rings.
This video was shared on Rashid’s Instagram account. It has been viewed more than 6,000 times, and it is still growing. Excited viewers have posted a lot of comments.
This is not the first time Rashid has recorded this wonderful event. He often demonstrates his photography skills in astronomical events, capturing Saturn, the moon and many breathtaking sunsets.
If you missed the opportunity to see Saturn with your own eyes last night, please pay attention to the sky on August 20, because this phenomenon will happen again. After that, it will be a full year before our next opportunity.
