Roommates, following her calling him out for his past use of the N-word, India Arie Seemingly has had a change of heart. During her recent appearance on Don Lemon’s CNN show, India Arie stated that she has accepted Joe Rogan’s apology and she doesn’t believe that he’s racist, just insensitive.
While being briefly interviewed by Don Lemon, India Arie had a different outlook regarding her criticisms of Joe Rogan and his previous uses of the N-word. “I did think he did a fine job with his apology. He said a lot of things I would want someone to say. He said a lot of the things I would want to hear someone say. The thing that stuck out for me most was when he said, ‘It’s not my word to use.’ And I think changed behavior is what we’re really looking for,” she stated.
As we previously reported, India Arie pulled her music from Spotify due to multiple instances of Joe Rogan’s racist behavior as well as Spotify’s pay rate for artists.
She also shared a video montage on social media of Rogan repeatedly saying “n***er” on his podcast, and explained that she doesn’t want her music to generate money that will be used to pay Joe Rogan’s salary.
“I empathize with the people leaving for the COVID disinformation reasons, and I think that they should,” she said. “I also think that Joe Rogan has the right to say what he wants to say. I also think that I have the right to say what I want to say.”
