India: Kerala continues to be hit by heavy rains, 21 people are killed and several are missing-News

“The central government will provide all possible support to help those in need. The NDRF team has been dispatched to assist in rescue operations. Pray for everyone’s safety,” he said.

Indian Meteorological Department senior scientist Naresh Kumar said on Sunday that compared with Saturday, the rainfall in Kerala on Sunday will be significantly reduced.

“Yesterday there was an area of ​​low pressure in the southeast of the Arabian Sea adjacent to Kerala. It was significantly less this morning. It was weakened today. Due to its impact, there was extreme rainfall yesterday with rainfall exceeding 29 cm,” Kumar said. According to the ANI report.

“However, there are fewer trough marks in the morning. The trough of low tide is still there. Due to its influence, there can be up to 6-7 cm of rain. But compared to yesterday, it will be significantly reduced. After that, there will be fine weather. ,” he added.

Earlier today, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that the low pressure area of ​​Lakshadweep and the neighboring Arabian Sea in the southeast of Kerala has begun to weaken, but the state has been hit by continuous rainfall since Friday and will continue to see rain and accompanied by Lightning thundered until Sunday night.

The Meteorological Department also stated today that the low pressure area in the southeast of the Arabian Sea and adjacent to Kerala has become less obvious, and light to moderate rains are likely to occur in many places. There will be only isolated heavy rains and heavy rains in Kerala in the next 24 hours. It was further reduced thereafter.

Personnel from the three defense forces of the Army, Navy, and Air Force have been forced into the state’s rescue and rehabilitation work.

Chief Minister Vijayan today urged the people of the state to take all precautions to prevent rain. He said: “The state has established 105 rescue camps, and arrangements have been made to open more camps.”

The chief minister convened a high-level meeting to increase rescue efforts and evacuate the trapped people in areas flooded by heavy rains.
