India: Kerala couples affected by floods attend wedding in cooking pot | Flood News

In the southern state of Kerala, India was hit by heavy rains. An Indian couple brought huge cooking utensils through the flooded street to their wedding venue.

The couple borrowed the pot from the local temple and recruited two men to push the makeshift boat. The pictures went viral on social media.

“It became a wedding we never imagined,” the bride told local media channel Asianet shortly after the wedding.

Floods and landslides caused by heavy rain have killed at least 28 people across the state.

Although their wedding venue was partially flooded, the two decided to tie the knot in a small ceremony.

According to media reports, both husband and wife are medical staff.

The image shows that after heavy rains hit Kerala in the past four days, cars and buses were flooded.

On Monday, rescuers were searching for survivors while the Army, Navy and Air Force assisted in rescue and rescue operations.

The state government said it had evacuated thousands of people and established more than 100 rescue camps.

In 2018, floods in Kerala killed nearly 500 people.
