Airfare prices between cities in India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) continue to remain high as the UAE’s summer holidays come to an end and educational institutions begin to open for the new school year.
Many Indian families are returning home to wait for airfare prices to drop so they can fly back to the UAE.
Travel agents said that as COVID-19 restrictions were lifted and airlines increased capacity, airfares continued to stay at holiday prices.
One-way fares from India to UAE according to Khaleej Times
- Kochi – AED 1,503 (Rs 32,563)
- Kannur – AED 1,701 (Rs 36,853)
- Kozhikode – AED 1,335 (Rs 28,930)
- bangalore – AED 1,277 (Rs 26,586)
- Chennai – AED 1,881 (Rs 40,757)
- Mumbai – AED 1,146 (Rs 24,831)
- Delhi – AED 1,203 (Rs 26,066)
Low season fares from India to the UAE usually range from AED 200 (Rs 4,334) to AED 300 (Rs 6,501).However, the average price by the end of September is expected to be around AED 700 (Rs 15,169)
Meanwhile, airfares from the UAE to many cities in India have fallen sharply from last month’s peak tourist season.
Flights from the UAE to India currently cost between AED 400 (Rs 8,703) to AED 700 (Rs 15,231). In July, the peak summer tourist season, tickets cost between AED 1,200 (Rs 26,111) and AED 1,700 (Rs 36,991).
According to a recent report by aviation consultancy OAG, Dubai and Mumbai are already considered the busiest in the world in terms of airline seats.
