Air India Express specifies the documents that eligible passengers must bring to the UAE.
Air India Express has designated the documents that passengers holding a UAE residence visa must carry from India to any airport in the UAE.
According to the latest guidelines of Air India, passengers can fly to the UAE if they bring the following documents:
>> For passengers holding a residence visa issued in Dubai and going to Dubai, passengers must obtain the “Return Permit for Residents outside the UAE” form from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) through the following website: https://smart.gdrfad .gov .ae/Smart_OTCServicesPortal/ReturnPermitService.aspx
>> For holders of residence visas issued in other emirates, they must obtain the form from the Federal Identity and Citizenship Administration (ICA) via https://smartservices.ica.gov.ae/echannels/web/client/guest/index .html#/registerArrivals
(Those who hold a visa issued by the organizers of Expo 2020 Dubai can travel to the UAE without GDRFA/ICA approval.)
>> Passengers must hold a negative Covid-19 test certificate, the QR code of which is linked to the original report. The test must be completed in an ICMR approved laboratory within 48 hours before departure.
>> A rapid PCR test report based on molecular diagnostic tests must be carried out at the departure airport in India within four hours before departure.
The updated guidelines issued on Thursday, August 12th did not mention the requirement to provide a Covid-19 vaccination certificate.
Previously, on August 10th, travelers to Dubai were not required to present a vaccination certificate.
From August 5th, among the 10 categories of foreigners allowed to fly to the UAE from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Nigeria and Uganda, residents who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 are one of them.
The latest update does not mean that vaccination is not mandatory. It just suggested that the airline representative at the point of departure would not check the passenger’s vaccinations. If the passenger can present the above documents, including ICA/GDRFA approval, he/she will be allowed to board the plane.
The airline advises passengers to report six hours before departure. The rapid PCR test counter will be closed two hours before departure.
The airline also mentioned special requirements for travelling to Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah.
Those who go to Abu Dhabi
>> A 12-day home/institution quarantine in Abu Dhabi.
>> A 10-day home quarantine in RAK.
>> PCR test on day 6 and day 11.
Those who travel to RAK
>> Isolate at home for 10 days
>> PCR test on day 4 and day 8.
