India will face pressure: Babar Azam in the T20 World Cup clash in Dubai-News

When the main competitors met at the T20 World Cup on October 24, Pakistan captain Babar Azam felt that the pressure on India would be even greater.

After meeting with the waiting chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Committee Ramiz Raja, Babar said: “I think that during the World Cup, India will be under more pressure than Pakistan.

“We hope to start our campaign by defeating India.”

According to the draw results announced by the International Cricket Council, the two rivals will clashed in Dubai during the group stage of the World T20 Cup.

Neither team has played any cricket matches since India won the 2019 World Cup in England easily.

India has the upper hand over Pakistan in ICC events and has remained unbeaten in 50 World Cup matches.

Babar pointed out that playing in the UAE is like playing Pakistan at home.

“When we play in the UAE stadium, it’s like playing at our home court. We want to go all out on the court,” he added.

Barbar also expressed satisfaction with the ODI team that announced their participation in the series against New Zealand, which aroused strong criticism from critics and former players.

Babar claimed to have selected a balanced team for the series.

The selector recalled the batters, Iftikhar Ahmed and Khushdil Shah, and removed the former Pakistan captain Safaraz Ahmed from the team.

“We are facing a midline problem, and this series is a good opportunity for players to come back to consolidate their position in the team,” he said.

He also insisted that in all three forms, he did not have the pressure to lead the team.

Sarfaraz is a goalkeeper and batsman. He has only participated in one of the past 10 ODI games-against South Africa at Centurion in April. For more than a year, Mohamed Rizwan has been Pakistan’s preferred goalkeeper.

“Muhammad Rizwan is still the goalkeeper of choice,” said Chief Selection Officer Mohamed Wasim. “We will continue to develop young goalkeepers who are healthy and ready to come forward when opportunities arise.”

20-year-old goalkeeper Mohammad Haris was appointed as Rizwan’s substitute in the ODI team. Other uncapped players include fast bowlers Mohammad Wasim and Shahnawaz Dahani, as well as Zahid Mahmood with his legs spinning.

Intermediate batsmen Iftikhar Ahmed and Khushdil Shah were recalled after their last participation in the ODI series against Zimbabwe in Pakistan last year.

In addition to Sarfaraz, the selector also eliminated batsmen Haris Sohail, Salman Ali Agha and Sohaib Maqsood from the team. The team played the ODI series against England for the last time in July.

New Zealand will arrive in Pakistan on September 11 and will play the ODI series at the Pindi Cricket Ground in Rawalpindi on September 17, 19 and 21.
