Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Oil and Gas, Housing and Urban Affairs of India, will speak to global investors on “Opportunities in the Oil and Gas Industry” at the round table held in the India Pavilion at Expo 2020 tomorrow.
In addition to using this global platform to understand global best practices and discuss reforms with global industry leaders, the minister will also elaborate on the government’s strategy to accelerate investment in India’s oil and gas value chain.
The roundtable will also provide the National Oil Company (NOC), international oil and gas giants, sovereign funds and institutional investors with in-depth discussions with regulators and decision makers in the oil and gas industry in India and explore opportunities for cooperation in India. The country’s ongoing market and regulatory reforms.
India is the third largest oil consumer and the fourth largest importer of LNG, and an important player in the global oil and gas industry.
The round table deliberations aimed to use this opportunity to invite global investors to contribute to and benefit from the country’s goal of achieving self-reliance in the oil and gas industry and its vision of achieving energy security.
Other topics to be discussed during the roundtable include India’s growing role in the global oil and gas value chain, energy security, access and the transition to sustainable energy, and India-UAE energy cooperation.
