Yusuffali, 65, is the chairman and managing director based in Abu Dhabi Lulu Group Operates large supermarkets and retail companies in many countries.
Sheikh Mohammed issued a resolution to establish a new board of directors Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI), with Abdullah Mohamed Al Mazrouei and Yusuffali serving as vice chairmen.
ADCCI is the highest government agency for all businesses established in Abu Dhabi. It is an effective bridge between the government and the commercial sector.
Abu Dhabi is one of the richest and most influential economic centers in the region, and each of its business organizations must be licensed by ADCCI.
Yusuffali is the only Indian among the 29 members of the board, which is mainly composed of UAE business owners and CEOs.
Yusuffali described his appointment as “a very humble and proud moment” in his life.
“I sincerely thank the visionary leaders of this great country. I will do my best to prove the great responsibility entrusted to me. In addition to working hard for the development of the country Abu Dhabi Economy and the larger business community, I will be sincerely committed to further promoting trade relations between India and the UAE,” he said.
Sheikh Mohammed recently awarded Yusufali the “2021 Abu Dhabi Award”, which is the highest civilian honor for his long-term contributions in the field of economic development and charity for nearly 5 years.
