Indian children’s shoes brand enters UAE, goes global

United Arab Emirates – Plaeto, India’s first footwear brand focused on children’s foot health, today announced its foray into the UAE market, a global move.

The Bengaluru-based company has partnered with Threads, the UAE’s premier and largest retailer of school uniforms, shoes and accessories.

Available in three different lacing methods, Plaeto’s black and white school shoes are available in Times Square Mall, City Mall, BurJuman Mall, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah and Fujairah Threads store to buy. The shoes can also be purchased online at www.threadsme.com.

In the coming months, Plaeto is focusing on positive growth in the UAE market. The company said the plan is to further explore retail and distribution partnerships for its growing line of 5-15-year-olds.

Threads is one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of school and corporate uniforms in the UAE. The company also provides end-to-end services in design, manufacturing, distribution and retail.

Plaeto shoes not only protect your growing feet, but also the planet. Their carbon footprint is 6.5 kg CO2 equivalent per pair, which is about 50% lower than regular sneakers. Expanding their sustainability goals to packaging as well, the shoes come in reusable cloth bags instead of single-use cardboard boxes.

The brand’s founding team consists of former executives from Nike, Adidas and Apple. Last year, Plaeto announced sports icon and Indian team cricket coach Rahul Dravid as its brand ambassador and strategic advisor, whose mission is to help children discover the joy of ‘play’ in life.
