The Indian embassy in Abu Dhabi has started helping about a hundred Punjabi workers stranded in Abu Dhabi under the direction of the Union Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Dilbag Singh, a resident social activist in Baina Pur village, wrote to the union foreign minister S Jaishankar a few days ago to seek help for the workers.
Subsequently, the Community Affairs Department of the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi sent an email to Dilbagh Singh, asking him to share the details of the trapped workers in order to assist them, which he sent in a timely manner.
Dilbag said Square General Contracting Company LLC is located in the Al Dana Tower in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He said the company had a camp at No. 14 in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi, where the young people were currently trapped and unable to reach their families and friends. The parents of these teens received information from relatives living abroad.
Dilbag Singh said the workers’ passports were kept at the company. It forced workers to lose their jobs, but their passports were not returned. Therefore, these workers cannot return to India.
Dilbagh urged the Indian embassy in Abu Dhabi to find the camp and help the young people.
