INJAZ UAE representatives from board and partner companies meet Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak

Dubai, UAE: Representatives of INJAZ UAE Board of Directors and other members of partner companies had the pleasure recently to meet His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, to introduce the organization’s mission and describe its work in youth empowerment and youth Private sector partnership models for work on empowerment.

In addition, the winning teams from the latest INJAZ UAE National Company Plan competition also participated in the visit and briefed Sheikh Nahyan on their ventures.

INJAZ UAE Board members and partners present at the March 18 meeting included: Elissar Farah Antonios, Chairman, INJAZ UAE; Ali Al Janabi, Chairman, Shell Group Companies – Iraq and UAE and Vice President, Shell Upstream – Iraq and UAE; HSBC David Ramos, Senior Manager, Sustainability, MENA and Turkey; Shamsa Al-Falasi, Managing Director and Interim CEO, Citibank, Head of Citigroup, UAE NA Onshore Entities and Global Subsidiaries Group – GCC and Iraq.

Commenting on the conference, Sheikh Nahyan said, “INJAZ UAE provides an important service to society by equipping young people with the skills they need to succeed in entrepreneurship. It is a pleasure to join INJAZ UAE in celebrating the country’s young people such as those from Dubai National School Young Star – Al Barsha won 1st place in the INJAZ UAE National Company Plan Competition.”

Elissar Farah Antonios, Chairman of INJAZ UAE added: “INJAZ UAE is committed to developing the next generation of entrepreneurs by providing them with the necessary information, skills and networks. INJAZ UAE is a member of Junior Achievement Worldwide, one of the world’s largest not-for-profit business education organizations, reaching more than 10 million students annually in 121 countries. INJAZ UAE acts as a link between the business community, educators and volunteers, empowering young people to own their own financial success. Since its establishment in 2005, INJAZ UAE has trained over 100,000 students through its programs and courses across the country.

The organisation’s signature event is the annual INJAZ UAE National Company Planning Competition. The recent winners from Dubai National School Al Barsha were an all girls team comprising Al Reem Al Muhairi, Maryam Al Blooshi, Muna Alblooki and Jeeda Haj Weiss. They were assisted by their teacher Raghad Khalifa. The team went on to win first place at the INJAZ Al-Arab Youth Entrepreneurship Celebration, competing against teams from 13 countries in the MENA region.

In a joint statement, the team members said: “It was an honor to meet Sheikh Nahyan and introduce him to our startup, a company called Join me It is aimed at women aged 16 and over. We believe in connecting and empowering women. We also thank INJAZ UAE for providing an opportunity to test our startups against other young people from the UAE and across the Arab region. “
