Inter-American Development Bank announces the launch of the “Monitoring and Self-Evaluation Program” for the industrial sector in Abu Dhabi

[ad_1]

The Industrial Development Bureau (IDB) of the Ministry of Economic Development of Abu Dhabi announced the launch of a monitoring and self-assessment program for industrial facilities in Abu Dhabi to encourage them to self-assess the process with the help of technical experts; steps aimed at making these facilities self-sufficient.

The plan focuses on all eligible industrial facilities that hold production licenses and meet accurate technical standards to support the assessment of conditions, errors, damages, and objective compliance with scientific and practical methods. In addition to ensuring the integrity of these facility systems and their compliance through a comprehensive cycle, the self-assessment method also corrects any restrictions by submitting a report to the IDB technical team for review and approval.

Rashid Abdulkarim Al Blooshi, Deputy Minister of ADDED, emphasized the importance of the Abu Dhabi Industrial Facility Program in implementing legislation and regulations related to industrial licensing. The plan will further help industrial facilities to better understand environmental, health and safety standards, promote industrial production and reduce operating costs, thereby improving the competitiveness and quality of their products.

Mohamed Munif Al Mansoori, Executive Director of the Industrial Development Bureau, said that IDB’s technical team has established accurate technical standards for the industrial facilities that can be selected for the program.

The choice will depend on whether the industrial facility has met technical and management requirements in the past three years. He also clarified that the first phase of the plan targets 20 industrial facilities that meet the criteria: 18 facilities in Abu Dhabi and 2 facilities in Al Ain. In turn, this step helps strengthen self-assessment efforts in compliance with requirements and applicable systems, and helps to increase transparency in the private sector.

Al Mansoori pointed out that an intensive training program has been implemented for relevant employees in industrial facilities that meet the standards, because their responsibilities and responsibilities are clearly defined by following up the monitoring process and the results of corrective actions. This ensures the consistent accuracy of the preparation of technical reports in a manner that reflects the actual conditions of the industrial facilities, and then the use of forms independently designed for this purpose for industrial assessments.

IDB sets 6 key standards for the monitoring and self-assessment program of the industrial sector. They are: compliance with the terms and requirements of industrial licenses, adoption of approved occupational health and safety (OHS) systems, installation of emergency systems, and compliance with hazardous materials Manage the use and update of the integrated system, as well as professional and technical backbones with sufficient technical experience in the Emirates, no less than three years, and no major violations caused by safety accidents. Technical audit of industrial facilities on customs exemption and other related requirements.
