Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – The Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplant Initiative International Conference, to be held from 7-9 November 2022 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in Abu Dhabi, will open tomorrow with over 5,000 attendees Experts and experts participate and present in panel discussions, lectures and presentations that will explore topics including the most prominent challenges facing organ donation and transplant institutions and programs around the world.
The conference will witness representatives from Spain, United Kingdom, Denmark, India, Italy, United States, Canada, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, Syria, Greece, South Africa, Brazil, Pakistan, Jordan, Turkey, Australia and Arab United emirates.
Speakers in 11 panels will discuss the challenges of organ donation and transplantation, chronic renal failure and transplantation, innovative solutions for reciprocal kidney transplantation, parameters of brain death determination, the relationship between organ transplantation and personalized medicine, the importance of transplantation Follow-up of recipients, importance of dissemination of awareness and capacity building in the field of organ donation and transplantation, and experiences and challenges of corneal transplantation. The conference will connect stakeholders who wish to collaborate on organ storage and donation. The conference will shed light on the role of international cooperation in bridging the gap between organ availability and transplant needs, raising community awareness of organ donation and transplantation and preventing organ failure diseases, sharing knowledge of institutional experiences in this field, and the role of Medicare and charities in supporting organ donation and role in transplantation.
The conference will include an exhibition featuring more than 70 works of art and literature highlighting local and global organ donation and its history. It will showcase the creative art, drawings, inspiring stories of transplanted children, as well as the work of professional and local community participants, some of which have won international awards.
The conference will highlight more than 20 inspiring stories from organ recipients, donors and families of posthumous donors in recognition of their sacrifices and contributions to saving lives and maintaining the health and safety of their communities.
