Forum – Co-Sponsored G20 Interfaith Forum Association and Religious Union For Safer Communities – Bringing together over 100 leaders from interfaith communities to discuss priority agendas and recommendations for the G20 2023 process. The results will form the basis for analytical work and dialogue to develop concrete recommendations and global advocacy efforts.
Against the backdrop of interconnected global crises – from violent conflict to growing inequality and climate change – the forum will bring together leaders from more than 85 countries.
Dana Humaid, president of the Coalition for Interfaith Safer Communities, said, “While our society is progressing rapidly, faith remains a central pillar of community, and faith leaders play an important role in providing solutions to many of today’s biggest geopolitical challenges. Topics discussed at the forum will include protecting the vulnerable, COVID-19 recovery, tolerance and understanding, and climate change.
Through a series of working groups and plenary sessions, participants from faith-based organizations, government agencies and international associations will explore how faith and community leaders can support global policymakers in taking meaningful action to protect the world’s most vulnerable communities.
“This will be an important meeting in planning and setting the agenda for the G20 Interfaith Forum in India in 2023,” said Cole Durham, chair of the G20 Interfaith Forum.

The forum will serve as a bridge between the G20 summit in Indonesia in November and the launch of the G20 agenda for 2023, which India will host. Its outcomes will form the basis of efforts to contribute to the agenda of the G20 summit in 2023 and beyond.
