TEHRAN – The Iran Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) announced that the Iran Food and Agro-Industry Exhibition will be held in the United Arab Emirates from November 7 to 10.
As IRIB reported, a conference on investment opportunities in Iran’s food and agricultural industries will also be held on the sidelines of the aforementioned exhibition.
In addition to providing practical information on the Iranian market and keeping businessmen and traders informed of the latest achievements in the Iranian food and agricultural industry, the conference will also present the country’s existing capabilities in the above-mentioned fields.
The UAE’s food and beverage market, with an annual turnover of US$16 billion, is one of the largest and most dynamic consumer markets in the region, which is a great opportunity for the development of Iranian food and beverage exports.
Iran currently holds nearly 3% of the food and beverage market in the UAE, a market that can be significantly improved with proper planning.
Increasing non-oil exports to neighboring countries has been one of the main plans the Iranian government has pursued in recent years.
The UAE has been one of the largest trading partners of the Islamic Republic of the country’s neighbours.
According to data released by the General Administration of Customs of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRICA), the UAE is Iran’s third major export destination for the first four months of the current Iranian calendar (March 21-July 22).
During the four-month period, Iran exported $2.264 billion worth of non-oil products to the UAE, while importing $4.875 billion worth of goods.
During the aforementioned time period, the UAE was the largest source of imports to the Islamic Republic.
