Kurdish security officials said that Erbil International Airport in northern Iraq has become a target of drone strikes.
The internal security department of the Iraqi Kurdish Autonomous Region initially stated that three rockets hit the vicinity of the airport and Erbil is the capital of the region.
The second statement of the Kurdish counter-terrorism force stated that the attack was carried out by drones carrying explosives.

Lawk Ghafuri, head of foreign media relations at the Kurdistan regional government, said on Twitter that Kurdish security forces are investigating the incident.
“This drone carried an explosive device and exploded after being far from the terminal and territory of Erbil International Airport. There were no reports of casualties,” Ghafuri Said.
According to its director Ahmed Hochiar (Ahmed Hochiar), the airport is also a US-led coalition base and has not suffered any damage.
The US military is leading an international military alliance whose mission is to help the Iraqi army fight the remnants of the Islamic State (ISIS).
The league did not immediately comment on Saturday’s incident.
