Times are tough. These days, people are trying to find ways to earn extra cash to offset the inflation we feel in our bank accounts. But as more consumers are looking for ways to supplement their income, so have the number of scams to be aware of.
Which brings us to Survey Junkie – a site that offers money in exchange for people’s time taking surveys.but Is Survey Junkie Legit??
Can answering questions really make money? Is it really that easy? I signed up to find out, and here’s what I learned.
What is Survey Junkie?
investigation junkie Pay you to take online surveys. Each survey is point-based – the longer the survey, the more points you earn.
Immediately after signing up for Survey Junkie, I got 25 welcome points, then another 25 after verifying my email address. I was bombarded with some “get to know me” surveys that filled out some of my profile.
All of a sudden, I’m 30 minutes into it and already have 136 points. I’m not even sure where the time has gone. If you’ve ever been caught by the Pinterest effect, you start scrolling through Pinterest and BOOM! You’ve lost half the day without showing anything – kind of like that.
If you have a lot of free time and know you’re not going to get rich quick with this site, then go ahead and click and answer the questions. It appears that, for quite some time, you’ll be able to amass some extra cash.
But here’s the catch – you can only take one out of five surveys, and you’ll have to answer a set of questions before you can be sure if you can complete it. Therefore, some time may be wasted while participating.

Does Survey Junkie work?
according to their websiteSurvey Junkie pays members $40,000 a day and they have over 20 million members to date.
Survey Junkie also participates in other areas, which you can sign up for during the initial profile setup. You can choose to get paid for participating in online focus groups, face-to-face focus groups, product testing, research, and phone surveys.
All of these cost between $5 and $100 per session.
Will I get actually paid for doing Survey Junkie?
While I didn’t earn enough points to get paid, Survey Junkie’s website says you can cash out via PayPal or bank transfer. Electronic gift card options are available for Amazon, Target, and more, walmartSephora Starbucks and more.
The application is very user-friendly. Though I can see it taking a while for you to accumulate enough points to get paid. Each survey will give you a point value and an estimated time to complete it (but only if you qualify to complete it).
Every point you earn on Survey Junkie is worth a penny. Once you earn 500 points (or $5), you can cash in your points and get paid.

Common complaints about Survey Junkie
Now you can’t believe every single comment because there are so many trolls out there, but here are some common complaints from Survey Junkie users:
1. You are frequently disqualified from taking surveys. (Remember the catch?)
2. They ask for your photo ID. (Personally, I haven’t been asked to do this, but other users have mentioned it.)
3. There was a technical problem when trying to redeem points. (This can happen to any site with a large number of users.)
4. You give away a lot of personal information. (That’s what surveys are for—to gather information.)
5. People have problems getting paid.
Is Survey Junkie legit?
The Better Business Bureau (aka “BBB”) doesn’t issue certification to just anyone. Survey Junkie received official business certification in 2017. Survey Junkie’s BBB pagethey have a 4.32 out of 5 customer rating from over 1,700 reviews.
This rating is important because it means that Survey Junkie is real and does what they say, which is paying people to take surveys. If they weren’t paying people as advertised, they wouldn’t be able to maintain such a high rating.
Read these reviews wisely!
Is this the best way to earn extra income?
Probably not. To make money, you have to have time — a lot of time.
I believe you can make more money by babysitting, becoming an Uber driver, or even buying and selling in the marketplace.
But if you’re already browsing the likes of Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest, you might as well put your energy into something like Survey Junkie, where you can get paid for your time — even if it doesn’t make you rich .
