ISCO Festival brings food, friendship and entertainment to sold-out crowds

[ad_1]

The International Student Cultural Organization at Troy University has successfully brought together students from different cultural backgrounds by selling all 250 tickets to the annual ISCO festival.

The purpose of the festival is to bring people from different places together to experience culture as authentically as possible without leaving Troy, Alabama.

“ISCO brings the community…out of this world,” said Brianna Moore, a junior English education major who is also an active ISCO member. “Building these relationships…helps bring about world peace,”

Students and staff come together to share food, music and conversation for an evening of fun.

“After I (come) here … I (made) friends — it was like a miracle for me,” said Chloe Zhang, a computer science major from China.

Many organizations and individuals shared the performance.

Appetizers, dinner and desserts include bruschetta, paella and Algerian semolina cake.

At the end of the evening, trinkets from around the world were drawn so guests could also take home something from another country.

ISCO hosts many events throughout the year where students can participate in the program. ISCO has always worked hard to bring people together, even if it’s just for a night, and it’s proven to create lasting friendships and memories.
