Last night, the Israel Pavilion officially celebrated the opening of Expo 2020 Dubai, welcoming visitors from all 191 countries.

Minister Razvozov said in his opening speech: “I’m really happy to stand here as a representative of the Israeli people and the Israeli government to participate in the opening ceremony of the Israel National Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. The event started with a traditional Mezuzah ceremony hosted by Rabbi Levi Duchman. The Mezuzah Case was specially produced and designed by the famous Jewish artist David Roytman for the 2020 Dubai Expo. Hanging mezuzah on the doorpost is an ancient Jewish custom. It fulfills the biblical commandment in Deuteronomy and writes the words of the Lord on the doorpost of the house. This was followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Minister of Tourism and Commissioner-General.
Cohen said of the ceremony: “Tonight, by placing Mezuzah at the entrance of our pavilion, we have turned it into our home. I have been dreaming of this day for many years. The Minister of Tourism arrived in the UAE yesterday, and other members of his delegation arrived at the World Expo for an official visit. Mr. Razvozov received a warm welcome at the UAE Pavilion and began his tour. The minister continued his journey and visited the Russian Pavilion in his country of birth. After the US Pavilion is his final destination, the Israel Pavilion where he hosts evening events.
Mr. Eli Cohen, secretary-general of KKL-JNF, concluded: “Now is the time to unite and cope with the climate crisis.”
The event ended with a performance by Hamalgezot, an Israeli band that played traditional Israeli music for 250 participants, followed by an Israeli DJ Abass, who ended his inauguration at the Israeli party.
