Israeli army killed Palestinians during Gaza blockade protests Gaza News

[ad_1]

The Gaza health authority said that at least 15 other Palestinians, including a child, were injured by Israeli fire.

The Gaza Ministry of Health stated that the Israeli army killed a Palestinian in the besieged Gaza Strip and hundreds of people participated in protests against Israel’s 14-year blockade of the territory.

The ministry said on Thursday that 26-year-old Ahmed Saleh was shot in the abdomen. It said that at least 15 people were injured by Israeli fire, including a child in serious condition.

The Israeli military stated that more than 1,000 Palestinians gathered by the Israeli fence in Gaza, lit tires and threw explosive devices.

“The Israel Defense Forces [Israeli military] The troops deployed in the area are using anti-riot measures, including live fire and 0.22 caliber bullets when necessary,” the military said in a statement.

Sanctioned by Hamas, the Palestinian organization that rules the Gaza Strip, Palestinians staged night protests near the Israeli fence this week to express their anger at the Israeli-led blockade of the territory. Israel invoked the threat of Hamas to restrict it.

The protests have added to the recent increase in violence, which tested the fragile ceasefire agreement that ended the 11-day deadly battle between Israel and Hamas in May.

Since Egypt mediated the ceasefire, Palestinians have sent balloons carrying burning materials to Israel from time to time to ignite bushfires and lead to Israeli air strikes on Hamas facilities in Gaza.

In the border clash on August 21, a Palestinian boy and an Israeli soldier were shot and killed by cross-border gunshots during the border clash on August 21. This was the first death since the fighting in May.

In recent weeks, Egypt and the United Nations have intensified their mediation efforts to help Qatar provide assistance to Gaza, a move widely regarded as support for the May 21 ceasefire agreement.

In the May conflict, at least 256 Palestinians and 13 people were killed in Israel. Among them, armed groups in Gaza fired rockets into Israeli cities and Israel carried out air strikes on coastal enclaves.
