Israeli army killed Palestinians in the occupied West Bank: Ministry | Israeli-Palestinian Conflict News

[ad_1]

The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that 27-year-old Muhammad Ali Habisa was shot in the head by live Israeli ammunition in Beta during a protest against illegal Israeli settlements.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health and medical staff said that during a protest against illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, the Israeli army shot and killed a Palestinian man and wounded several others.

The ministry said on Friday that the victim was hit in the head by live ammunition in the flashpoint town of Beta, where there are frequent demonstrations against the expansion of Israeli settlements. The ministry added that he was taken to the hospital in the northern West Bank city of Nablus and died shortly afterwards.

A family member identified the deceased as 27-year-old Mohammed Ali Khabisa.

According to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa News Agency, another eight Palestinians were injured by rubber bullets.

The Israeli military stated that hundreds of Palestinians gathered in the area, burned tires and threw stones at the army at the scene.

“We are aware of reports that a Palestinian was killed. The incident is under investigation,” the military said in a statement, but did not specify whether its troops opened fire.

Since May, residents of Beta have been protesting the outpost of the Eviatar Wildcat Jewish settlement nearby without Israeli permission.

The outpost was evacuated in early July, but the Israeli army is still stationed there and the authorities are considering its fate.

If the settlement is approved, its founder will be allowed to live more permanently.

The residents of Beta have promised to continue their battle until the army also leaves the outpost.

Since May, several protesters have been killed in clashes with Israeli security forces and hundreds have been injured.
