Cecily Strong is reflecting on her time saturday night live After a thrilling final performance on The Sketch Show after 11 seasons.
“My heart is about to burst. I have a lot of huge life-changing love to unpack, so that’s all I can say tonight,” Strong wrote on Instagram.

“Ten and a half years ago, I landed my dream job. On my first actual working day, I tried to act very calm and look like I knew what I was doing and that I was supposed to be there,” she said. “Around 11pm that night I said goodbye to everyone and left. I was stuck wandering the building as there wasn’t a lift to the ground floor and I was trying very hard to avoid having to go back upstairs for help as I had said Bye now!!!”

Strong said she ended up going upstairs again, and her “soon-to-be best friend Colin Jost” helped her find the “secret night elevator.”
She continued: “Leaving that night felt as impossible as it does now. My good friend Colin Jost finally helped me out again, this time let elvis sing for me (Thanks Austin Butler, your absolutely kind and generous dream ship). “

“I’m sorry I’ve been quiet about this in public. I don’t want to take extra stress on something that’s already so emotional for me,” she added. “I’m grateful for the last six great shows that helped me ease into it, get to know and laugh, and probably over-hugged Molly, Marcelo, Devon and Michael, who I thought were not only very funny, but really great Humanity. I’m ready, but I’ll always know home is here. I’ve had the time of my life working with the greatest people on Earth.”
