Emirati heritage brand JA Resorts & Hotels, which owns nine different hotels in the UAE and the Indian Ocean, has promoted William-Harley Fleming to Vice President of Operations.
William has been with JA Resorts and Hotels for over 15 years and brings him a solid foundation of dynamic and results-oriented hospitality experiences in the Middle East, Asia and European markets.
William rose from director of corporate food and beverage concepts in 2007 to his first general manager position at the age of 30. Since then, he has grown steadily, holding the position of General Manager for the JBR property belt in Dubai, including JA Ocean View Hotel, JA Oasis Beach Tower and JA Manafaru – an award-winning hotel in the Maldives.
Before serving as Vice President of Operations, he was Cluster General Manager at JA The Resort for nearly five years. William oversaw JA The Resort in Jebel Ali, a sprawling one million square metre resort, for his entire time there.
As cluster general manager of the group’s premier resorts, he manages 799 guest rooms and suites, three different brands, 23 restaurants and bars, a 9-hole championship golf course, a large equestrian centre, four floodlight networks Courts and tennis academy, squash courts, badminton courts, paddle tennis courts, aquatic centre, private 100-berth full-service marina, Dubai’s only licensed public shooting club, award-winning spa and 1,100sqm bio garden Commitment to sustainability and education, as well as many other facilities within the sprawling resort.
In addition to promoting extremely high levels of repeat customers and the ultimate guest satisfaction experience, William is also passionate about corporate social responsibility. He has led many initiatives and actively supports the environmental goals of DTCM and the Dubai government. In 2019, under William’s leadership, DTCM awarded JA The Resort the Most Sustainable 5-Star Resort Award.
In his new role, William will continue to oversee the group’s properties in the Indian Ocean, including JA Manafaru, JA Enchanted Island Resort and JA Enchanted Waterfront. – arab trade news agency
