Jacob Batalon cast doubt on fourth ‘Spider-Man’ movie.
The 25-year-old star played the role of Ned Leeds in the most recent trilogy, which starred Tom Holland as the internet hero, but hinted that Sony Pictures will eventually decide to keep producing the series.
When asked about the possibility of a fourth film, Jacob told Collider: “I feel like the actor is the last person to know.
“I think people think actors are always hiding secrets. I promise you, we don’t know anything. But again, if it’s in the right place, at the right time, with the right people with us all the time, I would Say, why not?
“But other than that, whatever happens, it happens. Really, those decisions are up to the big bosses, who are the people who sign the checks. We’re open to the idea, but we’re not holding out hope.”
Jacob discusses the ‘beautiful’ experience filming ‘Spider-Man: Homeless’ – which included the return of previous Spider-Man Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield – and thinks the pairing of Tom, Zendaya A “poignant ending” for him.
“We were all crying, it was our last day at work,” he recalled.
“Even at the premiere, we all cried. I think it was a really beautiful experience for all of us to be involved in. We started at a very young age, basically when we started our first movie. When it comes to really seeing the arcs of the movie come together and all our characters go around in a circle, I’d say it’s crazy.”
Jacob added: “And then, let it end the way it does, on such a suspense, obviously, that everyone didn’t expect. I’d say it’s such a poignant ending to our movie.
“It really sighs the continuation of Spider-Man, but maybe not us, which I think is a great thing. We might not necessarily be a part of it, but it was a beautiful ride anyway. “
