exclusive: Amid competition, Australian actors James McKay signed enhance entertainment.
McKay makes debut in Guillermo del Toro’s film don’t be afraid of the dark (2010) co-starring Katie Holmes and Guy Pearce. In this remake of the 1973 TV movie of the same name, the family moves to Rhode Island, where patriarch Alex Hurst (Pearce) and his girlfriend (Katie Holmes) are restoring a 19th-century mansion. Alex’s daughter Sally (Bailee Madison) discovers a hidden, long-undisturbed basement and unknowingly releases a group of creatures that inhabit the darkness. McKay plays the librarian.
in the 2015 film tailor, McKay stars as William Beaumont, opposite Kate Winslet and Sarah Snook.Other film credits include Searchlight battle of the sexes with Emma Stone and Steve Carell, Hacksaw Ridge Lionsgate opposite Andrew Garfield and Disney Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,etc.
On the TV side, McKay starred as Steven Carrington on the CW series dynasty, now streaming on Netflix.Other small screen titles include leftovers For home theater, people of tomorrow For CW and Savage River.
James studied at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts before being awarded a Heath Ledger Scholarship in 2013.
He is also represented by Shanahan Management in Australia, as well as Danis, Panaro and Nist Talent.
