Best-selling author James Patterson has signed an exclusive priority viewing agreement with Skydance Television.
Under the terms of the agreement, Patterson will adapt his best-selling series “The Women’s Murder Club” and the books of Michael Bennett, as well as the series “Private” and upcoming books “Jane Smith” and “Sherlock Holmes, Marple.” Miss and Poe.”

News of the deal comes as Skydance TV is currently producing “Cross,” a series based on Patterson’s Alex Cross novel, which includes Aldis Hodge will star in as an iconic figure. The series is also produced by Paramount Television Studios for Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service.

Patterson has sold more than 425 million books worldwide. Throughout his career, he has received awards such as the National Medal in the Humanities, the Literary Award for Distinguished Service to American Letters, an Edgar Award, and nine Emmy Awards.
Patterson was represented by CAA and Lichter Grossman.
The Patterson deal comes as Skydance already produces or airs several shows based on books and book series. The company also has shows “Jack Ryan” and “Reacher” on Amazon, and “Foundation” and “The Big Door Prize” on Apple.
