American star Jamie Foxx has been announced as the host of the new game show, days after it was confirmed he had been released from hospital.
The Oscar-winning actor and singer will host USA Network Fox’s “We Are Family” alongside his daughter Colleen.
She said on Friday that her father was recuperating at home after being hospitalized for a period of “medical complications”.
They said they were “thrilled” to be working on the show.
The father-daughter duo previously hosted six series of the music game show Beat Shazam on the same network.
“We hope the show will entertain viewers at home as much as we will when it premieres next year,” they said in a joint statement.
The new show will invite non-celebrity relatives of celebrities to duet with their hidden celebrity family members, while contestants try to guess their identities from clues to win a $100,000 prize.
Allison Wallach, one of Fox Entertainment’s bosses, described the father and daughter as “key partners in the Fox family” – UK viewers may have seen them in recent TV commercials together on screen.
“Their irresistible energy and captivating interactions with the contestants make them the perfect hosts for We Are Family,” Wallach said.
