Japan will celebrate National Day on the 11thday December 2021, as part of the ongoing efforts to promote the cultural diversity of participants at Expo 2020 Dubai. As Japan continues to work hard to advance its global cultural agenda, a wealth of entertainment activities will showcase Japan’s multifaceted traditions. The official ceremony hosted by Expo 2020 will be attended by delegations from Japan and the UAE. The official flag-raising ceremony will be addressed by representatives of Japan and the UAE, and then a Japanese cultural performance will welcome guests and tourists.
Visitors greeted a warm welcome from Japanese culture at all the main gates of Expo 2020. The Japanese Taiko troupe SHOTEN will take guests into the wonderful world of tradition at the 2020 Plaza, and in Sun Plaza, the students of the Dubai Japanese School will play the South Chu Solan for the Japanese folk song “Soran-bushi”. Guests will enjoy “Sumi-e and Calligraphy” at Sea Plaza. Watch the artist use ink and water to draw letters and pictures on large sheets of Japanese paper, combining traditional calligraphy called Shodo with Asian ink art called Suiboku-ga. In the Earth Plaza, a superb demonstration of Japanese martial arts Aikido, an art performance performed by members of Zanshinkan Aikido Dubai will give visitors a rare understanding of this self-defense technique.
Passing through the Expo site, visitors will witness Japan’s unique and unique culture, with uniformed waiters from the Japan Pavilion along with traditional performers, taiko drummers, Aikido and trail artists. The parade will showcase Japan’s rich culture. The next World Expo will be held in 2025 and will connect Dubai with Osaka and Kansai.
Japanese culture will be the focus of Japan Day celebrations at Expo 2020 Dubai. Visitors will experience a series of fascinating traditional programs, including “Ikebana”, Japanese flower arrangement art and the abstract strategic traditional board game “Go” sponsored by Nihon Kiin. “Go” was founded more than 2500 years ago and is considered the oldest board game in the world, but it is still popular today.
Takekawa Gakuen and Tomoe-kai’s Sight and Sound of Japan will host multiple workshops, including music, dance, flowers, and charming displays of Japanese brides and summer kimonos.
