A longtime hotelier in the UAE capital has joined Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi as General Manager. Jean-Pierre Trabut has spent almost 14 years at the National Hotel in Abu Dhabi and several years in Thailand, making him the ideal leader for Dusit Thani.
Trabut’s hospitality career spans four decades and spans the globe. Back in 1985, he was Food and Beverage Manager at the Prince of Wales Hotel in Southport, UK, and subsequently worked in various boutique hotels in the UK. These include being deputy general manager of the 137-room Carlin Hotel in Harrogate and general manager of the 59-room Burlington Hotel in Folkestone.
He then traveled the world to Casablanca as Deputy General Manager of the Le Royal Mansoru hotel, part of the Forte Exclusive for six years. After staying with the Forte Exclusive family, he next worked as EAM in Shelburne, Dublin.
Trabut moved to the French West Indies as General Manager of Le Meridien Martinique before starting a 14-year stint at Abu Dhabi National Hotels. He spent nine years as General Manager at Le Méridien Abu Dhabi, followed by five years as Director of Hotel Operations at Abu Dhabi National Hotels Group.
He then moved to Dusit after two years as General Manager at Mövenpick Hotel in Riyadh, followed by almost two years as General Manager at Mövenpick Hotel in Pattaya, Thailand.
