Jelan Helmy Focused Towards Offering Reliable Real Estate Services

Jelan Helmy is the Founder of Jewels Homes Real Estate. Her career in the real estate industry started in 2009 at DMCC. Then, she started working for Jumeirah Golf Estates in 2014. Later on, she joined Backyard Real Estate in 2019. She wanted to come up with innovative ideas and implement them by herself, and that’s why she started her own company, “Jewels Homes Real Estate.” This passion led to the path where Jelan Helmy is standing today.

Jelan Helmy aims to become a successful businesswoman, and her approach to the business can surely help her achieve her dreams. It’s pretty inspirational that she is growing exceptionally, being a single mother of 2 teenagers and managing the business. That’s what inspires us to learn something from Jelan Helmy.

Jelan Helmy, tell us something about the background of you and the Company in detail.

In 2009, I began my real estate career with DMCC’s CRM Department. Following that, I went to Nakheel to work as an Owner’s Association Manager of Discovery Gardens Buildings. Later on, I worked as an Owner Association Manager with Place Community Managers. I joined Jumeirah Golf Estates as a Leasing Manager in 2014 and continued to develop my skills and abilities. Working with such talented developers allowed me to improve my talents and expand my horizons, developing me into the person I am today. 

In 2019, I joined Backyard Real Estate as the head of the secondary market team, and in 2021, I became a Sales and Leasing Director at Asteco Dynasty. Then I decided to try something new and decided to establish my own business. I decided to start Jewels Homes Real Estate in October 2021 because I had a lot of ideas and goals that I wanted to accomplish.

What are your goals? 

To become one of the most successful Businesswomen in Asia and the Middle East. 

What do you feel is the biggest strength of yourself/Company right now? 

My key strengths are integrity, honesty, and credibility, which is why my clients trust me and never wish to deal with another broker. I want to be a reliable partner for them.

What was the path you/your Company took to get to where you are today? 

Since the start, the support I’ve received from former clients, friends, family, and bosses has encouraged me to make the correct decisions, and in only three months, I was able to recover all of my start-up costs and begin earning profit.

Why did you start (or want to be the head of) this Company? 

Being the Founder means you are involved in everything (Marketing, Leads, Finance, Budgets, HR, etc.). It’s not easy, but it’s worth it. 

What have been the biggest challenges you’ve had to overcome? 

Being a single mother with 2 teenage daughters while having my own real estate company was challenging at first. Still, I decided to involve them in the Company and incorporate their feedback into my marketing methods to reach as many age groups segments as possible. Also, instead of running the entire firm by myself, I opted to recruit administrative support and agents to focus on closing deals and gaining new business.

Give us one word that describes you the best. 

Stubborn (I don’t take no for an answer) since I’m a Capricorn and highly ambitious. 

What makes you excited about Mondays? 

Hahaha! I work the whole week, so Monday to me is exactly like Sunday!

What do you value most about your culture and vision? 

I’m from Egypt, the country of Pharaohs, Pyramids, and a cultural-rich history. Being bilingual (fluent in English and Arabic) made it effortless for me to engage with people of various nationalities and understand their needs when buying properties. 

Tell us about a project that forced you to be innovative and creative. 

I feel that my marketing posts and videos are creative and my Marketing campaigns. I put my creativity into such ideas and believe in creating effective results. 

What are your Company’s strategies, and how do they stand unique from your competitors? 

Again it’s integrity, honesty, and credibility, and I’ll add “Care” because we care a lot about our clients.

What are the key values that helped you overcome the roadblocks/challenges in your career? Tell us something about your memorable incident in your leadership?

The most crucial values, in my opinion, are self-motivation, tenacity, and the confidence that we are deserving of achieving the goals and dreams that are constantly in front of us. I’ve faced numerous problems throughout my career, but I’ve never been hesitant to speak up for myself and prove to others that we have to fight for our rights so it doesn’t get lost.

How do you see the Company changing in two years, and how do you see yourself creating that change? 

By being persistent and consistent and not being scared to experiment with alternative approaches.

Where is your leadership going? What benefits do your clients get from your Company in this competitive world? 

We provide our clients with an honest advisor and a caring friend, which is difficult to come by these days.

What services/solutions or products are offered by your Company at par with the current industry standards? Tell us something about your upcoming products or services? 

Our services mainly include selling off-plan, resale, leasing, and managing properties. Through such services, we aim to assist our clients to get the best help they can get or real estate solutions.
