Jenna Ortega felt the pressure during Wednesday’s Adams game.
The 20-year-old actress, who stars in Netflix’s new comedy-horror series “Wednesday,” admits she felt some pressure playing the “iconic character” on “The Addams Family” in 1991 and her 1993 Sequel to “Values of the Addams Family”.
She said: “I’ve never played such an iconic character, a character I grew up with a lot of respect for.
“So I think when you respect someone so much, you just want to do the right thing for them and do the right thing for all the people who are in love with her for good reason.”
Jenna also enjoyed working with Christina Richie, who starred in the “Addams Family” movie on Wednesday but has a different role in the new series.
She told the “Backstage” podcast: “It’s really funny, especially because I know people automatically draw comparisons. But I think what reassures me is how cool and respectful and generous an actress she is.
“I think we get along really well. And, I take comfort in knowing that because they’re living in two completely different realities. They’re two completely different people.”
Meanwhile, Jenna has previously revealed that her parents “couldn’t believe” how successful she was.
The actress’ parents have always been very supportive of her ambitions – but even they are stunned by what she’s achieved at such a young age.
Jenna shared: “I think they’re a little bit in disbelief.
“It’s not that they don’t believe me, because obviously they’re not going to drive six hours back and forth four or five times a week so I can go to LA to audition, but still.
“My mum actually said that to me yesterday – she said: ‘I didn’t expect you to be here.’ It’s true! That’s it. It’s random because we have no connection to Hollywood. “
