Jeremy Renner’s family is “thrilled with his progress.”
The 52-year-old actor is currently recovering in hospital after being crushed by a snowplow, and Jeremy’s sister Kym Renner revealed she is encouraged by the progress he has made in recent days.
She told PEOPLE: “We’re really excited about his progress. If anyone knows Jeremy, he’s a fighter and doesn’t mess around. He’s smashing every goal of progress.”
Kym and other family members are optimistic about his recovery. However, she also knows that he still has a long way to go.
“We feel very optimistic about the road ahead,” she said.
Likewise, Colin Farrell recently revealed that Jeremy is “doing well” as he continues his recovery.
The Hollywood star confirmed he has been in touch with Jeremy after he was airlifted to hospital for surgery.
Colin said: “Yes, I have been in touch. I believe he is doing well. All prayers are with him.”
Meanwhile, Jeremy recently paid tribute to the medical team who have been caring for him.
The actor, best known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel films, shared a photo on Instagram of himself lying in a hospital bed surrounded by medical professionals.
Jeremy captioned the photo: “Thanks to the renowned medical ICU team for starting this journey.”
Jeremy was injured trying to move a stranded family member’s car out of the snow near his home.
The “Hurt Locker” star was hit by a snowplow and “completely crushed” by a vehicle, according to a 911 call made after the incident.
A doctor who lived nearby immobilized his bleeding leg with a tourniquet until the actor was airlifted to hospital, where he was admitted to intensive care in a critical condition.
He subsequently underwent surgery for blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.
