Jessica McCaskill will take rare weight loss measures to boost her BMI.
BoxingScene.com has learned that McCaskill, the undisputed defending welterweight champion, has reached an agreement with defending WBC/IBF junior welterweight champion Chantelle Cameron. The bout will clash with Cameron’s title as part of the already announced DAZN show at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on November 5.
The fight, first reported by No Smoke Boxing, is expected to be announced this week during or after a live press conference for the Dmitry Bivol-Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez WBA light heavyweight title fight.
McCaskill (12-2, 5KOs) will return to junior welterweight for the first time since the pandemic, having previously won the WBA/WBC heavyweight title.
The timeless two-division champion — who turns 38 in September — won in a ten-round win over Erica Farias in the first DAZN-USA show in October 2018 The WBC 140-pound title was broadcast live from her hometown of Chicago.
