Johny Xavier : Microexcel empowers organisation to continually deliver innovation through change across enterprise applications

We had this wonderful opportunity of speaking with Johny Xavier from Microexcel technologies LLC Microexcel provides end-to-end, innovative, and comprehensive services that help customers leverage high-quality, flexible delivery models for cost efficiency, enhanced skill set, and deep domain expertise.

Let’s take a closer look at Microexcel from Johny himself.

Describe your background and the company’s history in detail.

Microexcel started its operations in 2001 at Secaucus, New Jersey, by our leaders Nirmal Mehta & Paul Simon with a vision to provide end-to-end IT services with a distinct focus on customer centricity and delivery excellence. We endeavor to be a valuable technology partner to drive business transformation and foster growth for our clients.

Our strategic growth trajectory since inception had led to diversifying our technology and outsourcing services in 2006, with a focus on expanding our scope and marking our presence in prominent markets across the globe.

Industry Accreditations: With an aim to accredit our service offerings by partnering with Global Technology Solution providers such as Microsoft and SAP.

Acquisitions: Microexcel expanded its footprint across the industry by a series of acquisitions, which included Know lysis, and Scalar in 2014, and Customer Dynamics in 2017.

Global Locations:

  • The year 2008 saw us opening our offshore operations in Hyderabad and Bangalore, India.
  • This followed an extension of our US operations with an office in Illinois in 2010, followed by the launch of a delivery center in New York in 2015.
  • We made our foray into the UAE market, with a new office in Dubai in 2016.
  • The year 2021 marked our Canadian presence, along with a North American Innovation center in Charlotte.
  • In the same year, we had also begun our European operations with headquarters in Switzerland.

We have also set up Quadrion in 2019, a dedicated consulting and development company for Microsoft technologies.

With our current global presence and our futuristic vision to accentuate our technology offerings in various markets, we remain steadfast in our goal to just not be limited to a solution or service provider, but as a reliable technology partner for our clients.

What do you want to achieve in the workplace and what does your company expect from its employees?

Our culture defines everything! How we interact internally & with the external world – customers, partners, vendors, etc, how we do business, etc.  I can proudly accept that Microexcel has not compromised on the values & culture built throughout these years, completely. However, all our objectives (both internal & external) are set in line with our culture – Respect & Trust, Positive Work culture, Knowledge, Recognition & Feedback & we expect the same from our employees.

What is your greatest company and team asset?

We are in IT Service Industry, and we cater to our customers from ad hoc support to 24×7.Ranging from different Industry and different technology platforms – Cloud & On-Premises. Many of our contracts are Multi Year. One of the important skill our every business team has – that includes Microsoft Business Unit, SAP Business Unit, Other Services Business unit possess is “Uniqueness”. Uniqueness towards Customer Service, Uniqueness towards Technology and these are achieved and constantly in progress because of Our employees. They are our pillars, and they are our greatest asset. The credit goes to them.

What steps have you taken to get where you are in your journey?

Indeed, a good question. As they say Success is not a destination and is a journey – A Journey full of Surprises, Excitement, Expectation etc. Though not a straight line. Though one must remain “Motivated”. Microexcel always believed in the Importance of Technology – touching the human values that – increase, compliment & contributing to this world. Microexcel is just a small piece in the process however we wanted to be relevant in this technology journey. With that objective & understanding we initiated a Program – “Upskill & Reskill” for the Technical & Functional Team and “Breakthrough Ideas to Improve Business” for the Managers & Operations Team. We initiated this in our company around H2-2018 and it is still a part of our every employee KPI.  This program has helped “re-organize” and “re-shape” us. It has helped Employees to be motivated because they could overcome the new challenges. So, Training has helped a lot! This helped us to remain relevant in front of our Technology Vendors and in turned helped forged confidence to our customers that they are in right hands for “Digital Transformation” initiatives.

What was the motivation for starting this company?

“Technology Inspiration” – Our founders Nirmal & Paul are greatly inspired by Technology & it is the motivation that led to start Microexcel.

 

What are some of the obstacles that Microexcel faced in achieving its goals?

Every organization goes through lot of rough patch and how successfully we embrace and come out of it shows us the “grit” of running the business. So, we are not exempted! We embraced challenges. Thanks to our programs in 2018. We were nimble-footed to adopt the changes during the Pandemic & mass resignation. Being in a Software Industry our main challenge is to “Attract & Retain” talent. Thanks to our founder’s non-compromising “Employee Culture & Values” – Respect & Trust, Positive Work culture, Knowledge, Recognition & Feedback. These are our guiding principles that us tide over challenges and achieve our goals.

What gives your employees a sense of purpose and direction on Mondays?

Being Curious helps to achieve many things! The same goes for Microexcel. We regularly discuss our objectives and goals with the team. The outcome is measured and recognized and rewarded – which helps employees to encourage to be a part of the “Big Picture” of Microexcel. Collaboration is the next big hurdle in any company. We created such an environment that helped “compliment & contribute” during the collaboration process. So naturally, we got the Involvement of the Team in any Task.  We clearly support employees’ personal development and their career interest.

What was the most innovative or creative project that Microexcel has worked on?

At Microexcel, we understand the unique requirements of our clients, and every project has its own set of process innovations backed by imbibing the best practices that we have garnered across our decades of experience. All our technology solutions enable businesses to get the optimal advantage that drives their current sustenance and paves way for future growth.

What key values helped overcome obstacles in your journey?

A continuous zeal and passion to envision and implement solutions that bring in business transformation, along with a strategic focus and futuristic vision by our leadership team have helped us navigate through many hitherto insurmountable challenges that we faced across the years.

What makes your company’s services/solutions or products unique? What is coming soon in terms of new offerings and innovations?

Customer centricity, innovative practices, unparalleled domain expertise, and bespoke solutions that align with business requirements are our key differentiators. We are on a path to having industry-certified solutions for the Healthcare and Life Sciences vertical in the SAP platform and are also expanding our solution offerings in the Cloud platform.
